Brothers and Sisters another year has flown by; I hope it was a good one for you and your family. Another year of companies maximizing profits off the backs of workers while rewarding CEO’s and top Management. With the Presidential election complete and a new year upon us we will witness how that struggle will continue. Will the new administration help working people or will the attack on working men and women get worse?
I have heard that NextEra are owners that care about their employees, they have a moral compass, have integrity, and are union friendly. It looks like we will find out in 2017. The Texas Legislative Session will begin in a few weeks. Local 69 may be asking the members to write letters to your Legislators regarding our issues. The hearings at the Texas Public Utility Commission regarding the sale of Oncor Electric Delivery to NextEra will be taking place during the legislative session. Your voice matters!
We will have unit meetings in January 2017. At the January meetings we will have nominations for officers for our local union. Elections are in February and the new officers will take office in March. The local union office sent a letter regarding nominations to all members. If you did not receive a notification of Election Letter please notify the union office of your current address so we may update our records. The schedule for the unit meetings are as follows:
