Brothers and Sisters the holiday season is upon us and another year has flown by. The local union has received the signature page of the contract from Fox 4 so we can now get the labor agreement to the printers for all members to have a contract.
Oncor Electric Delivery and IBEW Local 69 reached a tentative agreement on their labor agreement and ratified by the members. The members voted to accept the Company offer of a three (3) year Agreement with a three percent (3%) wage increase for each of the three (3) years, a five percent (5%) PEP target effective January 1, 2020 for March 15, 2021, Mutual Assistance language, increases to shift premiums, increase for Safety Footwear, and a Memorandum for a West Texas Compensation Premium. I would like to thank everyone that served on the Negotiating Committee for their tireless efforts negotiating the contract. The Union Office will get the contract printed and distributed as soon as possible.
At the Unit Meetings starting in January 2020, IBEW Local 69 will be accepting nominations for IBEW Local 69 Officers. A schedule for the Unit Meetings will be on the IBEW Local 69 web site. Nominations are in January, elections in February, and the newly elected Officers take office in March. When a run-off election is necessary it shall be held 21 days after the regular election. In order to be nominated, a member must have a minimum of two (2) years of continuous good standing in Local Union 69. Anyone desiring to be nominated must be present during the nominations or provide a written and signed statement that they will accept the nomination. No member may be a candidate for more than one (1) office. Anyone nominated to more than one office must choose the office for which they will be a candidate.
The offices to be filled are President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Business Manager/Financial Secretary, Executive Board – 11 (3-East Region, 3-West Region, 3-Metro Region, and 2-Broadcast).
I look forward to seeing everyone that can attend a meeting in January 2020. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Until next time may God bless you, your family, and our local union.
Fraternally yours,
Bobby W. Reed
